Currys IE is one of the biggest electrical retailers in Ireland with 28 stores nationwide and a dedicated Irish website. They sell a wide range of electrical products such as Audio, Computing, Washing Machines , Cookers , Dishwashers , Driers , Vacuum Cleaners , Cameras , and Televisions.
A lot , maybe all, of Currys online orders for Ireland seem to be delivered from the UK.
Since Brexit – we have heard about several orders from Currys being delivered along with a customs payment demand.
Currys say this was a mistake and are promising a refund of any charges paid.
Due to the large number of people affected by Brexit and the Covid staff shortages – it is taking a while for them to get around to responding to everyone. (Which is understandable). We hope things get back to normal in a few weeks.
Currys charge €4.99 for delivery of orders with smaller items such as vacuums. . Delivery of larger items such as washing machines and other appliances costs €19.99 per delivery . They also offer an installation service and will take away your old appliances.
Currys also offer to price match any identical product found to be cheaper on the following websites: Argos, DID Electrical, Expert, Harvey Norman or Power City . Currys say they will refund you the difference if you find the same product cheaper within 7 days of buying it from Currys IE.
Currys have said that customers should not have to pay customs duty or VAT on delivery . Apparently, several orders in early January did result in Irish customers being asked to pay import fees by courier firm DPD.
Currys say that this was a mistake – and it will be resolved .
