Since Brexit – some people have been looking for non-UK websites to do their online shopping.
Many of the EU Amazon sites will deliver to Ireland. But – at the time of writing – the only one that can be viewed in English and also delivers to Ireland is Amazon Germany (Amazon.De).
Irish customers of the German Amazon site cannot get the option of free delivery to Ireland.
Even Amazon Prime members do not get free delivery to Ireland from the German site – they have to pay the same as everyone else for delivery to Ireland.
Amazon UK is still pretty much fine to use for most things since Brexit. If you stick to items sold by Amazon you will not get hit with unexpected customs charges or VAT when the goods are delivered.
The email address and password you use to sign in at Amazon uk usually works on any of the other Amazon sites.

On Amazon.de it is easy to change the language from German to English You just click on the German flag at the top , next to the search box and you will be shown the different language options.

Amazon Germany Delivery Charges to Ireland
These are the shipping rates for Ireland as shown on Amazon Germany.

Some of the goods sold on the German Amazon site will be stored in warehouses in Ireland – so delivery to Ireland may be sometimes quicker than 3 to 5 days on popular items.
Postage Refunds for Returns to Amazon Germany
Items from Amazon Germany sent to Ireland are eligible for free return if you use the return label provided and one of the following apply:
- The item you received was wrong, damaged, defective, or did not match its description.
- You cancelled the purchase of an item under the right of withdrawal within 14 days, and the price of the item you are returning exceeds €40
- You are returning shoes, clothing, jewellery, or watches (within 30 days of receipt), or items eligible for Free Return.
For FREE returns from Ireland – the procedure is , that the buyer pays the postage charge but then Amazon Germany will refund it. You may be asked to provide proof of the cost – so you should keep the receipt for shipment. You will need to request the postage charge refund via online chat. It won’t be automatic.
If the item is not eligible for FREE return – then Amazon Germany will deduct €11 from the refund to cover postage costs from Ireland. You will also need to get in touch with them to claim back postage charges after you return the item.
For lower priced items (under €11) they will sometimes tell you not to bother sending it back.
